Nivea In-Shower Cocoa Butter Body Lotion Review

According to Nivea, this in-shower cocoa butter body lotion is specially formulated to intensely nourish normal to dry skin.

How it works: Wash with your usual shower product and rise off. While still in the shower, apply the in-shower body lotion onto wet skin. The lotion works similar to a hair conditioner, except it's for your skin. Once applied, rinse off and you're good to go. It will make your skin as soft as it's ever been.

The Good:

  • Absorbs quickly
  • Goes on smoothly
  • Long lasting
  • Moisturizes well
  • Not greasy
  • Smells great
  • Softens skin

The So-So:

  • The scent is pleasant; however, much of it goes down the drain when you rinse.
  • As with all in-shower moisturizers, be careful getting out of the tub. The lotion tends to stick around, making the tub slick.

Results: The moisturizer is thick and fairly creamy. It goes on pretty well on wet skin and does not slide off (which is what tends to happen with wet skin and conventional moisturizers). The scent is pleasant; however, much of it goes down the drain when you rinse.

If you have some body area that is very, very dry, this will make a difference. It's even better than body butter. I love how thick and creamy this lotion is without being too greasy. It absorbs quickly in my skin and leaves me feeling soft and moisturized.

The cocoa butter seems to stay with your skin and keep it from becoming flaky or dry. I've used cocoa butter and it can be quite sticky or heavy. So by incorporating it into an in-shower product, Nivea can offer the benefits of heavier cocoa butter application without the sticky residue.

Bottom line: This new in-shower body lotion is a convenient way to moisturize right in the shower without the waiting time or the sticky lotion feel. Wash, moisturize and then you’re done! The formula, with an indulging Cocoa scent, is highly innovative and leaves skin feeling hydrated and silky soft.

I received this product for free from Nivea in exchange for my honest review.
