Dove Nutritive products (Dry Shampoo, African Macadamia Oil, Daily Shampoo & Conditioner, Hairspray)

Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo Review

Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo comes in a pretty pink and white canister. According to Dove, this dry shampoo is designed to absorb oil between traditional washes so hair looks and feels refreshed. "The weightless formula cleans to transform lifeless hair, so you can enjoy fresh, volumized hair, even when you skip your regular wash."

The Good: Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo:
  • has a clean scent
  • refreshes hair in a pinch
  • provides a very fine powdered spray
  • does not cause build up like others (no white powdery while film or residue at the root)
  • absorbs oil well leaving hair looking fresh
  • leaves hair soft and manageable

The So-So: While most customers will appreciate the soft manageability of this product, I wish it was slightly tackier to provide more volume to my roots.

Bottom Line:  At an average price point of $9.99, this dry shampoo is a good value for anyone wanting to extend their hairstyle. The canister is bigger than most dry shampoos on the market so you get more bang for your buck. I recommend buying a can to throw in your gym bag for a quick post-gym refresh.

Dove Pure Care Dry Oil With African Macadamia Oil Review

Pure Care Dry Oil With African Macadamia Oil comes in a glass pump-style bottle. According to Dove, this non-greasy formula with high nourishing properties is "designed to instantly help replenish lipids, soften and add shine for silky, smooth hair.”

The Good: Dove Pure Care Dry Oil With African Macadamia Oil:
  • is great for repairing damaged ends
  • leaves hair feeling soft and silky
  • makes hair looks shiny and well nourished (especially when used just before flat-ironing)
  • provides a professional-quality treatment
  • immediately absorbs into hair
  • does not leave hands feeling greasy after application
  • smooths flyaway or damaged ends

The So-So: The scent is a little strong but gives one the sensation of being on a Caribbean vacation. According to the ingredients, the product is made from a mix of macademia, coconut, sweet almond, and sunflower seed oil. It also includes added fragrance. I think I would've enjoyed the smell better had Dove stopped after sweet almond oil, but effectiveness of this product outweighs this smell and the aroma dissipates quickly.

Bottom Line: At an average price point of $11.99, this macadamia oil is an exceptional value. A couple drops was all that was needed to immediately restore the health of my hair.

Tip: Apply some throughout your hair before blow drying. As the oil heats up from the blow dryer it distributes more evenly throughout and improves the saturation into the hair.

Dove Nutritive Solutions Daily Moisture Shampoo Review

Nutritive Solutions Daily Moisture shampoo comes in a typical flip-top shampoo bottle. According to Dove, this shampoo includes a MicroMoisture™ Serum and is "specially formulated to nourish dry hair, leaving you with touchably-smooth and easy-to-manage hair every day.”

The Good: Dove Nutritive Solutions Daily Moisture Shampoo:
  • lathers fairly well and washes out easily
  • leaves your hair feeling clean and not weighed down, doesn't leave a film behind
  • smells refreshing
  • has a subtle scent that isn't overpowering so it's great for people who are sensitive to fragrance
  • still leaves a nice lingering scent in hair days late
  • leaves hair feeling soft and healthy-looking

The So-So: The shampoo on its own still left my hair feeling tangled; however, paired with the Dove Conditioner, Dove Nutritive Solution Daily Moisture Conditioner left my hair feeling very soft and shiny.

Bottom Line: At an average price point of $7.99, this shampoo, is a decent value. While it is not as moisturizing as I would like, it does do a good job cleaning my hair and isn't that what you really want from a shampoo?

Dove Nutritive Solutions Daily Moisture Conditioner Review

Dove Style+Care Flexible Hold Hairspray

Dove Style+Care Flexible Hold Hairspray comes in a pretty pink and white canister. According to Dove, this hairspray is formulated to "strengthen your hair style by providing flexible hold with natural movement while enhancing hair’s luminosity. It helps provide long lasting style by nourishing and protecting hair to help prevent issues such as frizz, fly-aways and dry/split ends that get in the way of great style.”

The Good:Dove Style+Care Flexible Hold Hairspray:
  • is flexible
  • helps keep any fly-aways intact
  • helps maintain any volume I've built throughout the day
  • doesn't make hair feel hard or crunchy
  • feels extremely lightweight.

The So-So: The fragrance is a little strong. I found it to be a little too sweet and powdery smelling; however, the scent dissipated fairly quickly.

Bottom Line: At an average price point of $9.99, this hairspray is a decent value for anyone looking to tame frizz and fly-aways.

I received these products for free from Dove in exchange for my honest review.
