John Frieda In-Shower Lightening Treatment Review

With a Review Trip to Florida just around the corner, I was super excited to receive this John Frieda product in the mail this week. Hey - If I'm heading to the sunny state, I'm going to have to blend in, right?

How to Use: The packaging of this new product is super clever -- two tubes with a common tab closing. When you're ready to use the treatment, you simply break the tab, mix the contents in your hand and apply to the hair, leave five minutes, then shampoo and condition as usual.

The Good: The amount of cream inside the tube is quite generous, and there's a bit of a challenge to get all of the contents from both sides of this tube to mix completely together when applying. If you’re a natural or color-treated blonde, this product will give your hair a nice boost in just one wash, helping you maintain a bright, natural-looking blonde. It works all over, softening dark roots and lightening blonde tones to give you believable, shimmering color from root to tip. The peroxide-based lightener lifts melanin from the hair cuticle to brighten strands and is designed to be used once a month or 1-2 times between your coloring cycle.

The So-So: The scent is little powerful; however, this is to be expected with any peroxide-based hair product. If you have sensitive skin, your scalp may notice a slight sting.

Bottom line: Overall. I would recommend this system. It's basically instant gratification in a bottle -  fast and easy!

I received this product for free from John Frieda in exchange for testing purposes.
