How to use:
Per the instructions --which I normally discard but read for the purpose of this review-- you should dab a small amount of foundation onto the dream blender. Alternately, place the foundation on the back of the hand and then apply to the blender for added precision.
Maybelline Pro tip: Before use, wet and towel dry the blender for lighter coverage.
Results: I noticed right away that my face felt immediately softer. The foundation went on smooth, most likely due to its gel-like consistency.
The Dream Blender was a nice accessory tool. It was excellent for applying the Dream Velvet Foundation precisely near the the eye; however, I found it absorbed a lot of the product instead of blending it into my skin. This was likely due to the fact it was brand new (I imagine the sponge would work better with time as once it was more saturated).
The sample I received was a touch too dark for my complexion, however, because it was so blendable, it still worked for me as it allowed my freckles to come through and still appear natural.

Maybelline calls this coverage medium and it is exactly that. It provides enough coverage to even out your skin tone but doesn't make it appear barbie-doll fake.
Like any woman, I scrutinize my face on a regular basis. So I tested the short and long-term results of this product. I noticed that the foundation started to break up a bit around my drier areas (nose, under eye area) when I took the second close up photo after about 5 hours. However, to be honest, I have yet to find a foundation that stays smooth on dry skin so this is more something I need to address with a better exfoliation regimen.
Overall, a nice everyday foundation that has great value and best of all, no scent! I would buy this again.
